In our four years of ministry, Five14 Revolution has learned that to serve as an interruption to human trafficking and sexual exploitation, we must not only reach out to the women already in crisis, but also to the women that are susceptible to crisis because of their circumstances.
At Five14, we reach out to women experiencing varying degrees of hardship through two unique initiatives: our Outreach Ministry and Storehouse program.
Our Outreach Ministry is directed toward women working in the commercial sex industry. Twice a month, Five14 sends outreach teams into the strip clubs in our community to develop relationships with the women working there, letting them know that they are loved and appreciated, and providing Storehouse tickets to any women who may be in need of assistance.
Our Storehouse program is open twice a month, coinciding with the Saturdays after Outreach. The Storehouse seeks to meet the practical needs of women by providing toiletries, baby care items, and household cleaning supplies. These items can be costly and are not typically covered by other forms of assistance, which can create a financial burden that the Storehouse seeks to help alleviate. In addition to the women who receive tickets through Outreach, Five14 also partners with other organizations in Wilmington by providing them with Storehouse tickets to distribute to the women they encounter.
